TRAIL REPORT
For the penultimate hike this season, we re-revisited Snoqualmie Mtn. Despite the cool, overcast conditions, we had a nice turnout of seven: Damon, Dan, Don, Jason, Joan, Larry and Mark. Call this one "Beat the Sunset Hike" - scheduled for 7:21 PM...
Of course, the weather being the way it was, there was no real way to know when the sun set that night! We got a nice jump on the hike, starting by 5:55 PM. From there, it was a long, dreamy (nightmarish?) slog up through the endless gray. Although it didn't rain, the moisture-thick air clung to every available surface - be careful what you brush up against!
We were all on the summit by 7:30 PM or so - not bad! About half of us did beat the sunset, but again, who could tell? Exiting Snoqualmie in the foggy darkness was a bit more treacherous than the ascent - steep and slippery conditions for sure. I have proof...@#%@^%#!!! Good thing we had more than enough time to stop by the NBBG one last time!

DRUM ROLL
***************
It's time for the annual cookout on Rattlesnake Ledge! Some folks would like to change it up a bit this year and do burritos/fajitas instead of veggie burgers. Sounds yummy! Of course, no reason we can't do both! Please let me know if you're planning to attend, and what you're planning to bring to the party. I will compile a list and have an update by Tuesday.
Hope to see you there!

Although the weather is looking iffy for Rattlesnake, it's looking fine for a return to the Enchantments on 9/24. We had a blast last year - why should this year be any different? :)
Oust,
-Mark
BTW: This Sunday: Alta Mountain - meet 8:30 AM at Eastgate - take advantage of the good weather while you can!
