TRAIL REPORT

Hello, TNAB'ers:

For the first time in two seasons, we actually had decent weather for Mailbox Peak. The temps were moderate, the skies partly cloudy, the trail dry and somewhat dusty. Great conditions for a hike!

The big story this week was turnout - double digits again! Chris, nursing an injured leg (45 stitches - ouch!), returned after just a couple weeks' layoff. That's TNAB spirit! Also, we had a "newbie" on the hike - Craig, with his dog Comet. Craig proved to be only new to TNAB, but not to hiking - he made excellent time to the summit.

The rest of the crew: Damon, Dan, Don, Jeff, Joan, Larry, Lynda, Mark and Tom - eleven total. It was quite a crowd on the summit! We were all up top by 7:45 PM. The sun was setting fast, and the weather a bit chill, so our stay wasn't long. We were all off the trail by 9:30 PM, leaving more than enough time for a trip to the NBBG. One day, we'll just head straight there and bypass the hike altogether! :)

Next Hike: It will be weather dependent: Warm and sunny = Rampart or Snoqualmie; anything less = Bandera. Look for the update on Wednesday.

***Rattlesnake Ledge Cookout just two Thursdays away! Woo!
***Enchantments Loop Hike: On schedule for 9/24/05. Woo Hoo!

Oust,
-Mark
