TRAIL REPORT

Hello, TNAB'ers:

Temps were up, skies clear, and only three people showed up to make the second trip to Snoqualmie Mountain. Chris, Larry, and Mark met up in Eastgate and headed for Snoqualmie Pass in search of cooler temps and great views.

We started out by 6:15 PM - it seems we start later and later these days. The trail is dry and dusty for the most part. We were fortunate to spend a good portion of the hike in the shade - even up here, the weather was warm! The waterfall is completely dry (sniff)...

We all reached the summit by 7:50 PM, little more than 1.5 hrs from the start. The views were worth every ounce of sweat. Only to the far north did the haze obscure Mt Baker, but it was still discernible. We watched a helicopter fly up and down the valleys to the east, and could see people atop Red Mountain (crazy buggers!).

By 8:25 PM, it was time to head back. We made it back to the parking lot, intact, by 9:30 PM, and enjoyed a celebratory brew. After that, we still had time to hit the NBBG for food and more cerveza. Woo Hoo! Great hike, great night - wish you were there!

Next Week: Melakwa Lakes/Kaleetan Peak Overnight!!!! Are you planning to stay the night at one of the most scenic spots in the state? Let me know asap!
8/11: Kendall Peak via the PCT. Time permitting, we'll hit the Catwalk, too.
