Hello, TNAB'ers:
I've been on many a hike, and for some reason, early season Tiger Mountain hikes = rain. Lots, and lots of rain. This hike was no different. Trail conditions: wet, and muddy. Small, nameless lakes around every bend and flat spot toward the summit. Clouds descended to form a seamless atmosphere of H20 from ground to sky. Trails became arroyos, and hikers became salmon. Gills would've helped tonight!
Despite it all, 3 of us made a go of it. Joan and I made it first to the trail, followed by Scott, fighting traffic and determined NOT to be another statistic on the "friends-of-Dan-who-hike-once-and-never-return-because-they-decide-we're-crazy" list. Now we know, Scott is crazy, too - welcome Scott!
Because of the circumstances, it would only be fitting to try Tiger again next week and hope the predictions of better weather prevail. Please let me know asap if you'd rather move on to Dirty Harry's, so we can adjust to popular demand.
