Matt's Hike Summary: Kinda Krazy Kendall

Another gorgeous evening last night, although a bit buggy again. Contrary to the USFS website, FS road 9090 was open and we were able to drive to the upper trailhead(s) on Kendall. One can park at 4000 ft and pick your way across a fairly clear logged area, well marked with ribbon, but not always a clear trail, or you can drive up another half mile and head to the lakes from there. Don had provided a nice map of the area and wisely took the lower of the two "trails" he pencilled in on there. The rest of us, with me in front providing misdirection, took the upper trail, which results in a some steep meadow traversing. Very pretty, but not the most expedient route to the summit. We ended up dropping back down to the PCT as well, and then took the standard scramble rout to the summit. Very nice evening, breeze on top kept the bugs away and temperatures were very comfortable. Coming back down we took the easier route. Bushwacking wasn't bad, so long as route finding went ok :) Lots of Marmots, pika, ground squirrels, and Larry claims he was hanging out with a mountain goat for a while.
