Matt's Hike Summary: Wandering on Washington
We had a variety of people and almost as many routes on Mt. Washington
last night. Spring is making another attempt at happening; there were
even a few small mosquitos buzzing around! A number of us took the
bushwack route up the ridge, which was much better last year on
snow. Summit was nice, weather station still stands, views were a tad
murkey, but overall a nice evening. Coming back down the road we
found the rest of the group sitting around enjoying a multi-course
meal brought up by Al! They had pasta salad, peach-berry pie, and a
few other dishes, not to mention a pocketrocket stove & hot drinks!
Wow! Don and Jason had explored the 'other summit' by taking the
logging road to the right (instead of the left for the main summit),
until that ended in dense brush, and then a scramble to the local
maxima. A good time was had by all, especially any small animals
which found the pie scraps after we left.
