Interested in buying a 4 man tent? The Guide Gear 4 Man pop up tent is built well, sets up in seconds, and is priced right! Forget about losing or bending poles, this tent is a self-setting shelter, that is dependable and popular.
Made from 190T polyester taffeta construction, this tent is durable and flexible. It weighs about 12 pounds, and can easily be carried by one person. The exterior waterproof coating and rainfly are made from 600 mm polyurethane, which protects it from rain and other elements.
Although the name suggests four people can sleep in this tent (which actually can by the way), it doesn’t reveal anything about achieving that goal comfortably. Here’s what consumers are saying about this tent.
With a super simple 3-pole design that goes up in mere moments! Measures 9 x 8 x 4′h.; Sleeps 4 and weighs just 11 lbs…. perfect for families, compact enough for backpacking; Frame is 6.9 mm FRP, light and strong; Skin is polyester 185T; Large no-see-um mesh window and door screen provide a comfortable breeze; Rugged polyethylene bathtub floor; Factory taped sealed seams for dependable weatherproofing; Weather-resistant poled rainfly, awning included; Internal compartment fits lots of gear; Large front door with no-snag zipper.
The assembly. Some consumers loved the fact that there were no rods to assemble. The fewer frustrations, the better. One person can actually reach through the un popped tent, pull a cord, and have their tent fully set up in a matter of seconds. It is literally a “pop” sound that you hear when the tent is opening.
The dimensions of the tent are 82″ x 82″ x 55″. Now, if you are 6’2 this tent might not be ideal for you. I mean you can still have success using it, however the ceiling is not very high. Short people would be able to stand up in it.
As far as the bathtub style tent floor space is concerned, it will definitely keep you and your camping equipment dry. A queen sized mattress can fit inside, but it will take up all the floor space. Sleeping bags and roll out mats work well with this tent. Unless you have a twin size inflatable mattress, the Guide Gear is not recommended for double height air mattresses.
If you’re interested in buying the Guide Gear 4 Man pop up tent, then you’ll have your work cut out for you. These tents are hard to find, so if you can get your hands on one. Pick it immediately!
Let’s face it, most consumers flock to this tent because it is easy to set up, and is a quality bargain. You simply can’t beat the convenience and value for the price.
This is a great backpacking tent for fair weather weekends, lows near or above 50 F, and ground that will hold stakes. The rain fly will need some silicone waterproofing and might still leak a little in anything other than light rains, but it will help you retain that little extra warmth you want on chillier rainless nights. You can easily throw a tarp over it to keep the rain out entirely if you have room for one in your pack. The mesh does its job on the mosquitoes just fine. The bottom is well designed to keep moisture out. However, it is a little thin (it is a backpacking tent, after all), so you would want to make sure that you clear the ground of thorns, sticks, rocks, etc. before setting up. Keep in mind that this is NOT a stand-alone tent. It has stakes. So it will not work on sand or loose soil.
